Transcription of The Stock Network Interview with West Coast Silver (ASX:WCE), Executive Chairman Bruce Garlick
Lel Smits: West Coast Silver, formerly Arawara Resources, has rebranded with a clear focus on unlocking the potential of the Elizabeth Hill Silver project near Karratha in Western Australia. Already one of Australia’s highest grade primary silver deposits, with over 1 million ounc
es historically produced, the project is now entering its next phase. Ahead of appearing at Mining Rockstar’s event, Executive Chairman Bruce Garlick joins me to discuss the latest drilling results, upcoming Phase 2 program and the company’s strategic positioning as silver demand surges.
Bruce, welcome to the Stock Network.
Bruce Garlick: Well, thanks, Lel. It’s really good to be here and nice chatting to you.
Lel Smits: Lovely. Now, you’ve just awarded the Phase 2 drilling contract following strong, high-grade results. What are the key objectives really of this program? And also, what makes it transformational for Elizabeth Hill?
Bruce Garlick: Oh, we really are very excited about it.
It’s a two-pronged approach. We have the diamond core drilling and also we have the air core drilling. The diamond core drilling is about 1,000m and that is at the mine site itself.
We’re looking at a prospective open pit. So we’re doing some shallow drilling at 30m to 50m to determine the high-grade material for an open pit. In addition to that, we’re also doing two deeper holes of approximately 250m to 300m, where we believe there may be another silver pot.
So we’ve had good indications in that area. So we’re just hopeful that we can hit the right spot. With the air core, that’s what we call near mine site.
It’s about 500m to 1km, 2km away. We’ve got 12 prospects. ERM, our technical consultants, have determined the actual prospects.
And we’re going to be doing 2,000m to 3,000m of air core. And that is reasonably shallow, say 30m to 40m. And we will then determine that whether there’s more silver pods there or gossens there as we describe them.
Lel Smits: Excellent. And Bruce, recent assays confirmed exceptional intercepts and multiple near surface zones. Can you talk us through the highlights? Also, how these results really shape your view of Elizabeth Hill’s scale and development potential?
Bruce Garlick: Yes, we were very encouraged by the oxide shallow drill hits that we got.
They were spectacular. They range from 6,000g a tonne to 1,000g a tonne to 500g a tonne. They do vary.
And certainly, it demonstrates to us that it’s still very, very high grade material there. And that’s why we’re looking at a prospective open pit scenario.
Lel Smits: Bruce, thank you for the update from West Coast Silver.
Looking forward to hearing more at the Brogstar event in Sydney later this month.
Bruce Garlick: Thank you very much, Lel. It’s been great chatting to you and look forward to meeting you as well.
